アラビア半島から南アフリカにかけての熱帯・亜熱帯地方に分布しています。およそ７０種ほどがあり、高さは３０〜６０センチになります。春から初夏にかけて、ピンクや紫色、白色や青色、黄色などの花を咲かせます。この花は日中に開き、夜間や曇天の日には閉じてしまいます。近縁種の「ディモルフォセカ」との違いは、花茎にも葉がつくことです。別名で「オステオスペルマム」とも呼ばれます。 写真は、中２が「ピクニックピンク（cv. Picnic Pink）」、 中３が「ピクニックホワイト（cv. Picnic White）」、 中４が「ナシンガクリーム（cv. Nasinga Cream）」、 中５が「ナシンガパープル（cv. Nasinga Purple）」、 中１２・中１３は「テトラサンシャインジャイアント（cv. Tetra Sunshine Giants）」。 |

キク科オステオスペルマム属の多年草で、学名は Osteospermum cv.。英名は African daisy。 |

The African daisy (Osteospermum cv.) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native from the Arabian Peninsula to South Africa. Osteospermum is a genus of about 70 species and can reach 30-60 cm in height. The pink, purple, white, blue or yellow flowers come from spring to early summer. The flower is open in the daylight and close in the night and cloudiness. |
