北アメリカの西海岸、ブリティッシュコロンビア州の南西部からカリフォルニア州の北部に分布しています。標高１８００メートルまでの斜面や草地に生えます。小さな鱗茎から、細い葉を２〜３個だします。３月から６月ごろ、花茎を伸ばして散形花序をつけ、小さな淡いピンク色の花を咲かせます。

ユリ科ネギ属の多年草で、学名は Allium amplectens。英名は Narrow-leaf onion、Slim-leaf onion。

The Narrow-leaf onion (Allium amplectens) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is found on the west coast of North America, from southwestern British Columbia to northern California. It grows on slopes and meadows at elevations up to 1800 m. It produces two or three narrow leaves from small bulb. From March to June, it produces small, pale pink flowers in umbels on extended flower stalks.
