中央アメリカからブラジルに分布しています。偽鱗茎は扁平な楕円形で、樹木などに着生します。高さは25センチほどです。花茎を伸ばして、「さぎそう(鷺草)」のような淡緑白色の花を咲かせます。芳香があり、白い唇弁の側裂片が細かく分かれています。 
ラン科エピデンドルム属の常緑多年草で、学名は Epidendrum ciliare。英名はありません。 
The Epidendrum ciliare belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen herb that is distributed from Central America to Brazil. The pseudobulbs are flattened, elliptical, and grow on trees and other vegetation. It is about 25 cm tall. It grows a flower stalk and produces pale greenish-white flowers that resemble those of the "Egret flower" (Habenaria radiata). The white labellum has finely divided lateral lobes.
