White fawnlily (Erythronium albidum) belongs to the family Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to eastern North America, from southern Quebec and southern Manitoba south to Georgia and Texas. This herb grows in deciduous woodlands and gentle slopes in wooded areas, and it can reach 10-15 cm in heght. The leaves are lanceolate, dark green and covered with a mottled pattern of purple blotches. The white, lily-like flowers bloom in mid to late spring. The collora consists of 6 white tepals, 6 stamens with long yellow anthers.
