Hyssopleaf thoroughwort (Eupatorium hyssopifolium) belongs to the family Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to central and eastern North America, Massachusetts to Florida and Texas. This shrub grows in dry fields, and it can reach about 60 cm in height. The leavese are linear-lanceolate, sessile and arranged in opposite. The flowers are white, with disc florets and no ray florets, and bloom from August to September. The entire plant is applied externally as a remedy for the bites of reptiles and insects.
