ブラジル、パラグアイ、ウルグアイそれにアルゼンチンの北部に分布しています。高さは4〜10メートルになります。インガ属は、中央アメリカと南アメリカにだけ分布するマメ科の植物で、種の半数はブラジルに存在します。11月から2月ごろ、枝先に「ねむのき(合歓木)」に似た長くて白い雄しべのある花を咲かせます。果実の仮種皮は「さとうきび(砂糖黍)」のようにたいへん甘く、アマゾンの先住民は、この果実からお酒を造るそうです。 
マメ科インガ属の常緑低木で、学名は Inga urugnensis。英名はありません。 
Inga urugnensis belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is a small evergreen tree that is distributed in Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and the northern part of Argentina. This tree grows up to a height of 4-10 m. The genus Inga is a leguminous plant distributed only in Central America and South America, and about half of the species inhabit in Brazil. The flowers have long and white stamina similar to "Mimosa", and will bloom at the branch from November to February. The arils of fruit are very sweet like "Sugar cane" and the indigenous people of the Amazon make alcoholic beverage from this fruit.
