うんなんおがたまのき (雲南招霊の木) [Index] [Back] 中国の中南部が原産です。標高１１００〜２３００メートルの高地の低木帯に生え、高さは４メートルほどになります。幹はよく分枝し、小枝や葉は密集してつきます。葉は倒卵形から狭倒卵形で革質、濃い緑色で光沢があります。裏面は伏毛で被われます。３月から４月ごろ、芳香のある黄白色の花を咲かせます。観賞用や香水用に植栽されます。 モクレン科オガタマノキ属の常緑高木で、学名は Michelia yunnanensis。英名はありません。 The Michelia yunnanensis belongs to Magnoliaceae (the Magnolia family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to central-south China. This shrub grows in highland thickets, 1100-2300 m elevation, and can reach about 4 m in height. The stems are much-branched and the twigs and leaves are dense. The leaves are obovate to narrow-obovate, leathery, deep green and glossy. The abaxial sides are covered with appressed hairs. The fragrant, creamy-white flowers bloom from March to April. This shrub is planted as an ornamental plant and used for making perfume.
