アフリカの南部が原産です。乾燥した暑い地方に生え、高さは２メートルほどになります。卵形の葉には白い綿毛が密生してグレーに見えます。枝先に花序をつけ、真っ白な花を咲かせます。 |

キツネノマゴ科バルレリア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Barleria albostellata。英名は Gray barleria。 |

The Gray barleria (Barleria albostellata) belongs to Acanthaceae (the Ruellia family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to southern Africa. This shrub grows in arid hot region and it can reach about 2 m in height. The leaves are ovate, covered with white wooly hairs densely, and look like gray. The white flowers bloom atop of branches. |
