インドの北部が原産です。蔓性で、長さは１５メートルほどになります。葉は楕円形で１５〜２５センチの長さがあり対生します。春に白い漏斗形の花を咲かせます。花には芳香があり、蜜もいっぱいあるそうです。京都フラワーセンターでは「おおばなかずら（大花葛）」と種名表示されていました。

キョウチクトウ科ボーモンティア属の常緑蔓性木本で、学名は Beaumontia grandiflora。英名は Herald's trumpet、Easter lily vine。

The Herald's trumpet (Beaumontia grandiflora) belongs to Apocynaceae (the Dogbane family). It is an evergreen woody vine that is native to northern India. It is a vine that grows up to 15 m long. The leaves are elliptic, 15-25 cm long, and grow in pairs. It produces white funnel-shaped flowers in spring. The flowers are aromatic and full of nectar. At the Kyoto Flower Center, it was labeled as "大花葛" (Ohbana-kazura).
