地中海沿岸が原産です。「きんせんか」の近縁で、高さは２０〜３０センチになります。１１月から４月ごろ、鮮やかな黄色の直径１〜２ センチの花を咲かせます。和名は、真冬でも次つぎと花を咲かせることから。日がさすと花が開き、夕方には閉じてしまいます。 |

キク科キンセンカ属の一年草で、学名は Calendula sp.（属の総称）。英名は Calendula。 |

The Calendula (Calendula sp.) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an annual herb that is native to the coastal areas of the Mediterranean Sea. This herb is a related species of the pot marigold and can reach 20-30 cm in height. Bright yellow flowers 1-2 cm in diameter come in November to April. The flower is open in the daylight and close in the early evening. The Japanese name "Fuyu-shirazu" (winterless) comes from the fact that the flowers bloom one after another even in midwinter. |
