はまひるがお (浜昼顔) [Index] [Back] わが国の各地をはじめ、アジアやヨーロッパ、オーストラリアそれに北アメリカの太平洋岸に分布しています。砂地や小石まじりの海岸に生え、高さは１０センチほどになります。地下茎を伸ばして広がり、茎は砂の上を這います。葉は腎円形で互生し、厚くて光沢があります。５月から６月ごろ、葉腋から長い花柄を伸ばし、淡い紅色の漏斗形の花を咲かせます。 ヒルガオ科ヒルガオ属の多年草で、学名は Calystegia soldanella。英名は Sea bindweed。 The Sea bindweed (Calystegia soldanella) belongs to Convolvulaceae (the Bindweed family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed all over Japan, Asia, Europe, Australia and the Pacific Ocean Side of North America. This herb grows on sandy and shingly sea shores and can reach about 10 cm in height. It has elongated rhizomes and the stems are creeping on the sand. The leaves are reniform-round, alternate, thick and glossy. The long peduncles are borne on the axiles and bloom pale rose-pink funnel-shaped flowers from May to June.
