わが国の本州、岐阜県北部から富山県に分布しています。日当たりの良い湿地に生え、高さは60〜100センチになります。根生葉は羽状に深裂してロゼット状につき、茎葉はまばらにつきます。9月から10月ごろ、茎の上部で分枝して、枝先に淡紅紫色の頭花を咲かせます。「きせるあざみ」に似ていますが、頭花が上向きに咲くのが特徴です。1988年、植物学者の長瀬秀雄氏によって新種として報告されました。
キク科アザミ属の多年草で、学名は Cirsium hida-paludosum。英名はありません。
"Hida-kiseru-azami" (Cirsium hida-paludosum) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed to northern Gifu prefecture and Toyama prefecture of Japan. This herb grows in sunny marshes and can reach 60-100 cm in height. Tha basal leaves are pinnatipartite and form rosette, tha cauline leaves are arranged sparsely. The stem is branched at the upper part and bloom pale magenta flower-heads from September to October. This species is similar to "Kiseru-azami" (Cirsium sieboldii), though it is difined by erect flower-heads. It was reported as a new species in 1988 by Japanese botanist 'Hideo Nagase'.
