南アフリカからナミビアが原産です。茎は多肉質でこぶがあり、高さは50センチほどになります。表皮は黄みがかった緑色をしていて、ときどき剥離しています。葉は「パセリ」に似た掌状複葉です。春から夏にかけて、枝先の散形花序に小さな花を咲かせます。花弁は白色で、赤紫色の斑があります。 
フウロソウ科テンジクアオイ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Pelargonium crithmifolium。英名は Samphire leafed geranium。 
The Samphire leafed geranium (Pelargonium crithmifolium) belongs to Geraniaceae (the Geranium family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to South Africa to Namibia. The stem is fleshy and humpy, reaching a height of about 50 cm. The epidermis is yellowish green and sometimes peeling. The leaves are palmately compound, similar to parsley. Small flowers bloom in spring and summer in umbels at the ends of branches. The petals are white with reddish purple spots.
