ユーラシア大陸に分布しています。草地に生え、高さは１０〜３０センチほどになります。葉は楕円形から長楕円状倒卵形で、不規則な浅い鋸歯があります。葉柄には翼があります。春に花茎を伸ばして、浅黄色の花を咲かせます。種小名は、ロシアの植物を調べたドイツ人のペーター・パラス（Peter Simon Pallas）に因みます。

The Pallas's primula (Primula pallasii) belongs to Primulaceae (the Primrose family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed throughout Eurasia. It grows in grasslands and is 10 to 30 cm tall. The leaves are elliptic to oblong-obovate with irregular shallow serrations. The petiole has wings. In spring, the flower scapes grow and produce shallow yellow flowers. The specific epithet is Peter Simon Pallas, a German who studied the Russian plant.
