イワタバコ科グロキシニア属の常緑多年草で、学名は Gloxinia cv. Chic。英名は Gloxinia 'Chic'。

The gloxinia 'Chic' belongs to Gesneriaceae (the African violet family). It is a gardening variety of Groxinia made by Lyndon Lyon Green House in New York, the Unites States. It features shiny green leaves and bright red flowers. It was announced at the exhibition of American Gloxinia & Gesneriad Society in 1998.
