わが国では「アナナス」と呼ばれることの多い、パイナップルの仲間ですが果実はなりません。熱帯アメリカに約１３０種が分布し、多くは熱帯雨林のなかで樹木や岩などに着生しています。星状に開いた赤い苞が特徴ですが、最近では改良が進んで、苞の色も赤紫や黄など多彩になっています。 写真上は「シンフォニー（cv. Symphony）」 中１が「ジャズ（cv. Jazz）」 中２は「オスタラ（cv. Ostara）」 そして中３が「ルナ（cv. Luna）」。 |

パイナップル科グズマニア属の常緑多年草で、学名は Guzmania sp.（属の総称）。英名は Guzmania。 |

The Guzmania belongs to Bromeliaceae (the Pine apple family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to tropical America. The genus has about 130 species, they grows in rainforests and are epyphytes on the trees or rocks. The flower is defined by star-shaped red bracts. The many cultivars are breeded with colorful bracts. They are also called 'Ananas' in Japan. |
