大西洋のカナリー諸島が原産です。海岸沿いの荒れ地や砂浜、岸壁などに生え、高さは３０センチほどになります。茎の基部は木質化し、葉は円形から広卵形でロゼットを形成します。３月から９月ごろ、花茎を伸ばして、小さな薄紫色の萼に白色の花を咲かせます。花冠はわずかに萼からでています。

イソマツ科イソマツ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Limonium perezii。英名は Perez's sea-lavender、Seafoam statice。

The Perez's sea-lavender (Limonium perezii) belongs to the family Plumbaginaceae. It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to the Canary Islands in the Atlantic ocean. This herb grows in coastal waste lands, beach sands and cliffs, and can reach about 30 cm in height. The stems lignify at the bases. The leaves are round to broad ovate and form rosette. The flowering stalks are borne and the small white flowers with lavender calyces bloom from March to September. The corolla protrudes slightly from the calyx.
