インドのアッサム地方原産のレックス種（Begonia rex）を中心に、交雑を繰り返して作出された園芸品種群で、鑑葉ベゴニアの代表的なものです。形質は根茎性で、茎は地面を這い、よく分枝します。数多くの品種があり、葉の形態や斑模様など変化に富んでいます。 |

The rex begonia (Begonia rex-cultorum) belongs to Begoniaceae (the Begonia family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is a group of horticultural varieties created by repeated crossing, centering on the Rex species (Begonia rex) native to the Assam region of India, and is a representative of the leaf begonia. The trait is a rhizomatous plant, and the stem crawls on the ground and branches well. There are many varieties, and there are many variations such as leaf morphology and mottled pattern. |
