アメリカの南東部に分布しています。草原や茂みに生え、高さは６０〜９０センチになります。葉は長楕円形から披針形で、鋸歯があり互生します。７月から９月ごろ、デージーに似た黄色またはオレンジ色の花を咲かせます。花の真ん中は、紫褐色です。

The Corn flower (Rudbeckia fulgida) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in the southeastern part of the United States. This herb grows in grasslands and bushes and can reach 60-90 cm in height. The leaves are oblong to lanceolate, serrated and alternate. From July to September, it blooms the yellow or orange daisy-like flowers. The middle of the flower is purple-brown.
