The Cyclamen rohlfsianum belongs to Primulaceae (the Primrose family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed on the Mediterranean coast of Libya, in a limited area between Benghazi and Derna. This herb grows on limestone gravel up to 450 m above sea level and is often found under shrubs. It features bumpy and dry tubers. The kidney-shaped leaves come out in late summer, but the front side is bright green and the back side is purple or red. The fragrant pale pink flowers come before folliation. The base of the petals is purplish red.
