北アメリカの太平洋岸、カナダのブリティッシュコロンビア州からカリフォルニア州に分布しています。海岸沿いの岸壁や岩棚などに生え、高さは5〜20センチほどになります。葉は箆形でロゼットを形成します。葉縁は赤みを帯びます。6月から7月ごろ、茎の先の集散花序に黄色い星形の花を咲かせます。
ベンケイソウ科マンネングサ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Sedum spathulifolium。英名は Broadleaf stonecrop。
The Broadleaf stonecrop (Sedum spathulifolium) belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to the Pacific side of North America, from British Columbia south to California. This herb grows on seaside cliffs and rock ledges, and it can reach 5-20 cm in height. The leaves are spatulate and form a rosette. The leaf edges are tinged reddish. The yellow star-shaped flowers bloom in cymes atop of stem from June to July.
