台湾の南東沖にある蘭嶼(らんしょ)島とフィリピン北部のバタン(Batan)島に分布しています。着生種で、紡錘形の茎は長さ30〜60センチになります。葉は長さ6〜9センチで、茎の上半部につきます。春から秋にかけて、落葉した茎の節から花茎を伸ばし、濃赤紫色の花を咲かせます。和名では「たいわんべにばなせっこく(台湾紅花石斛)と呼ばれます。 
ラン科セッコク属の常緑多年草で、学名は Dendrobium miyakei。英名はありません。 
The Dendrobium miyakei belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed on Orchid Island off the southeastern coast of Taiwan and Batan Island in the northern part of the Philippines. It is an epiphytic and the spindle-shaped stem is 30-60 cm long. The leaves are 6-9 cm long and attach to the upper half of the stem. From spring to fall, the flower stalks grow from the nodes of the deciduous stems and bloom deep reddish purple flowers. In Japanese name, it is called "Taiwan-benibana-sekkoku".
