インカルターナ種（Passiflora incarnata）とキンニカータ種（Passiflora cinnicata）との種間交雑種です。成長が早く、長さは３～６メートルになります。またきわめて丈夫な園芸品種で、氷点下の気温になっても地上部は枯死しますが、暖かくなるとまた根から芽をだします。葉は大きく、掌状に３～５裂します。春から夏にかけて、淡い紫色の花披片と紫色から藤色までが混じった副花冠をもつ花を咲かせます。副花冠は途中からカールします。果実は３～８センチほどの大きさになり、黄色く熟して食べられるそうです。

トケイソウ科トケイソウ属の常緑低木で、学名は Passiflora cv. Incense。英名はありません。

The Passiflora 'Incense' belongs to Passifloraceae (the Passion flower family). It is a small evergreen tree that is an interspecific hybrid between the Passiflora incarnata and the Passiflora cinnicata. This tree grows fast and can reach 3-6 m in length. It is also a very stout cultivar. It's terrestrials are blighted below freezing point though the roots come into leaf in spring. The leaves are large and palmately divided into 3–5 leaflets. The flowers are pale purple tepals with purple to lavender mixed coronas, and bloom from spring to summer. The filaceous coronas curl from the middle. The edible fruits are 3-8 cm long and ripen yellow.
