オーストラリアの東部、ニューサウスウェールズ州の西部の斜面と南部の台地に分布しています。潅木状になり、高さは３メートルほどです。枝は項垂れ、卵状披針形で灰緑色の仮葉（phyllode、葉身が退化し葉柄が葉化したもの）がつきます。仮葉や小枝は、ごく短い毛に被われます。８月から１０月ごろ、緩やかな総状花序をだし、鮮黄色の花を咲かせます。

ネムノキ科アカシア属の常緑低木で、学名は Acacia vestita。英名は Hairy wattle、Weeping boree。

Hairy wattle (Acacia vestita) belongs to the Mimosaceae (the Mimosa family). It is a small evergreen tree that is native to the western slopes and southern plateau of New South Wales, Australia. This tree is shrubby and can reach about 3 m in height. The branches are drooping with grayish green and ovate-lanceolate phyllodes. The phyllodes and twigs are covered with short hairs. Bright yellow flowers bloom on loose racemes in August to October. (edit by Greg Brockelbank)
