ヨーロッパの中部から南部に分布しています。標高１２００〜２０００メートルの草地や岩場に生え、高さは３０〜１００センチになります。葉は大きく、羽状に深裂します。７月から９月ごろ、茎頂に小さな白色の頭花を咲かせます。

キク科ノコギリソウ属の多年草で、学名は Achillea macrophylla。英名は Broad-leaved yarrow。

Broad-leaved yarrow (Achillea macrophylla) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to central and southern Europe. This herb occurs in grasslands or scrags at an elevation of 1200-2000 m and can reach 30-100 cm in height. The leaves are large and pinnately divided into lobes. The small white flowerheads are borne on the stem apices from July to September. (edit by Greg Brockelbank)
