南アフリカのケープ山脈の南西部に分布しています。砂礫地の斜面に生え、高さは１０〜４５センチになります。葉は小さな長楕円形で明るい緑色をしています。真冬から春にかけて（７〜１０月）、枝先に芳香のある真っ白な花を咲かせます。花弁は中心脈に沿って、赤みを帯びています。

ミカン科アデナンドラ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Adenandra uniflora。英名は China flower、Shepherd's delight。

The China flower (Adenandra uniflora) belongs to Rutaceae (the Citrus family). It is an evergreen shrub that is found in the southwestern part of the Cape Mountains in South Africa. It grows on sandy gravel slopes and is 10 to 45 cm tall. The leaves are small, oblong and bright green in color. From midwinter to spring (July to October), it produces fragrant, pure white flowers at the ends of its branches. The petals are reddish along the central vein.
