The Aeranthes grandiflora belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Madagascar. It grows on evergreen trees and has broad, linear leaves that grow in bunches. From summer to fall, it grows long, slender flower stalks and produces cream to yellow flowers at the top of the stalks. According to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, it was the first orchid from Madagascar to be introduced to Europe.
