The mosquito plant (Agastache cana) belongs to Lamiaceae (the Mint family). It is a perennial herb that is native to New Mexico, Texas, and northern Mexico. This herb grows on montane dry slopes and can reach 60-90 cm in height. The leaves are graysh-green, ovate, and opposite, and can be used in herbal teas or to flavor salads. The pink tubular flowers appear in spikes from summer to fall. They attract hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. The photos above probably show the cultivar "Heather Queen".
