Agave flesxipina belongs to the family Agavaceae (the Agave family). It is a perennial herb that is native to central-northern Mexico; Chihuahua, Durango and Zacarecas. This herb grows on stony slopes in grass and forest land in 1400 to 2200 m altitude. The leaves are variable, yellowish-green, 15-30 cm long, with serrated edges and ending in brown to gray spines of 3-4 cm long. They form a small rosette. The panicle is borne, and it can reach 2.5-3.5 m in height. The green to yellow flowers bloom in the upper part of the panicle from June to July.
