The Huachuca agave (Agave parryi var. huachucensis) belongs to Agavaceae (the Agave family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is endemic of the Huachuca Mountains, Arizona, the United States. It is an upland variant with larger growth of the widespread Agave parryi. It grows in oak woodlands on open slopes and pine forest zones, 1550-2480 m above sea level. It is a compact rosette-forming succulent, 45-60 cm tall by 75-90 cm wide, with broad short gray leaves with prominent brown terminal spines. The large flowering stalk grows as high as 3-4.5 m above foliage, branched, and bloom lemon yellow flowers tinged with pink. Flowering usually occurs in late spring or early summer, and dies after blooming.
