The Havana snakeroot (Ageratina havanensis) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to Texas, Mexico and the West Indies. This herb grows in limestone outcrops and slopes, ledges along streams, and up to a height of 60-180 cm. The leaves are opposite, deltate to broadly ovate with dentate margins. The white to slightly pinkish flower-heads bloom in fall.
