アグライア属は東南アジアからオーストラリアにかけて、１００種ほどが分布しています。高さは３〜４０メートルになり、葉は単葉や複葉、奇数羽状複葉で、小葉は卵形や倒卵形、楕円形などです。葉腋から総状花序をだし、小さな黄色から白色の花を咲かせます。写真は、オーストラリア原産の一種です。 |

センダン科アグライア属の常緑低木から高木で、学名は Aglaia sp.（属の総称）。英名は Aglaia。 |

The genus Aglaia belongs to the Meliaceae (the Mahogany family), it has about 100 species and distributed through Southeast Asia to Australia. They are evergreen small to tall trees which can reach 3-40 m in height. Leaves are simple, compound or imparipinnate, and leaflets are ovate, obovate or elliptic. Small yellow to white flowers in racemes are seen on leaf axils. The photos are a species native to Australia. |
