The Mock lime (Aglaia odorata) belongs to Meliaceae (the Mahogany family). It is a small evergreen tree that is distributed from the southern part of China to the Indochina peninsula. This tree grows slow, up to a height of about 4.5 m. The leaves are impari-pinnate with 7-9 obovate leaflets. The flowers are very small, cream to pale yellow and have a sweet aroma. The petals are like a pot, with only one hole at the tip. It is called "•ÄŽe—–" (mi zi lan) in Chinese.
