"Akebono-yadake" (Pseudosasa japonica cv. Akebono) blongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is an evergreen bumboo that is a horticultural variety of the "Arrow bamboo", which is distributed in Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu in Japan. The rod grows straight and grows to a height of 3 to 5 m. It is characterized by the faint virescent white spots on its new leaves that appear in early spring.
