"Aki-choji" (Rabdosia longituba) belongs to Lamiaceae (the Mint family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Gifu prefecture of Honshu west to Shikoku and Kyushu in Japan. It grows in mountain forests and on the edges of forests and can reach 30-90 cm in height. The leaves are oblong, have short stalks, and are opposite. From September to October, inflorescences are borne on the stem apex and axils, and bluish-purple flowers bloom at the tips of short peduncles. Inflorescences and peduncles have short hairs. The flower color is usually bluish purple, but there are variations in white and pink.
