あきのえのころぐさ (秋の狗尾草)

わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島や中国、極東ロシアに分布しています。日当たりのよい道端や荒れ地に生え、高さは１メートルほどになります。花期が８月から１１月ごろと、「えのころぐさ」より遅いのでこの名がつけられました。また「えのころぐさ」よりやや大型で、花穂が長く、湾曲して先が垂れるのが特徴です。台湾華語では「法氏狗尾草」、中国語では「大狗尾草（da gou wei cao）」と呼ばれます。Ｃ４植物（Ｃ４型光合成を行う植物）です。 |

イネ科エノコログサ属の一年草で、学名は Setaria faberi。英名は Foxtail grass。 |

The Foxtail grass (Setaria faberi) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is an annual herb that is native all over Japan, the Korean Peninsula, China and Far East Russia. This herb grows in sunny roadsides and waste grounds, and can reach about 1 m in height. The flowering season is August through November, and is later than Green bristle grass (Setaria viridis). This plant is also larger than Green bristle grass, and is defined by long inflected spikes. In Taiwanese Chinese, it is called "法氏狗尾草", and in Chinese "大狗尾草" (da gou wei cao). It is a C4 plant (Plants with C4-type photosynthesis). |
