The Pink lily leek (Allium oreophilum) belongs to Lilaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China to southwest Asia and the Caucasus. It grows on gravelly slopes at elevations of 2500 to 3000 m and is 15 to 20 cm tall. The leaves are linear and flat, longer than the flower stalks, and around July to August, it produces 10 to 15 pink or red flowers in loose umbels. In Chinese, it is called "高地蒜" (gao di suan).
