アーモンドネックレス [Index] [Back] アフリカのナミビアが原産です。砂漠や乾燥した潅木帯に生えます。茎はツル状で長く、３０センチほどになります。葉の形がアーモンドのように細長く、長さ１センチほど、薄緑色で縦に線が入っているのが特徴です。この葉の縦線の部分は透明で、内部まで光を通し、内側の細胞も光合成を行うことを助けています。夏に頭状花序をだし、白色の花を咲かせます。花は筒状花で、その外側に葯が突き出します。 キク科キオン属の常緑多年草で、学名は Senecio herreanus (syn. Curio herreanus)。英名は String of watermelons、String of beads。 The String of watermelons (Senecio herreanus) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to Namibia in Africa. It grows in deserts and dry shrub zones. The stem is long and vine-like, reaching about 30 cm in length. The leaves are long and narrow, almond-shaped, about 1 cm long, and light green with vertical lines. The vertical lines on the leaves are transparent, allowing light to pass through to the inside, helping the inner cells to carry out photosynthesis.
