Aloe fosteri belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to South Africa; Mpumalanga and Limpopo Province. This herb grows in grassveld and bush on hills and plains, summer rainfall area, and it can reach 1.5-2 m in height. It is stemless. The leaves are dark green with numerous spots in transverse bands, and they grow in about 1 m wide rosette. The large panicles are borne and bloom yellow, orange or scarlet tubular flowers.
