南アフリカの南ケープ地方が原産です。長い期間をかけて幅３０センチほどの堅いロゼットを形成し、高さは６０〜１８０センチになります。葉は多肉質で青緑色、赤い鋸歯が目立ちます。晩冬から晩春にかけて、ロゼットごとに最大４個の枝分かれしない茎を伸ばし、サーモンオレンジ色の花を咲かせます。展開した花は下向きに垂れ下がります。

ユリ科アロエ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Aloe lineata var. muirii。英名はありません。

The Aloe lineata var. muirii belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is an evergreen perennial that is native to the Southern Cape region of South Africa, and can reach 60-180 cm in height. Over a long period of time, it forms a tight rosette about 30 cm wide. The leaves are fleshy and blue-green with conspicuous red serrations. From late winter to late spring, up to four unbranched stems per rosette develop and produce salmon-orange flowers. The unfurled flowers droop downward.
