The Maiden's quiver tree (Aloe ramosissima) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed in southern Africa, from southern Namibia to the Cape region of South Africa. It grows on rocky areas in arid shrubland biomes, and can grow to a height of around 2 m. It branches from the base to form a spherical crown. In its natural habitat, it puts out scapes and blooms bright yellow flowers from June to August. The flowers are pollinated by bees and ants. In recent years, aloe, which becomes tree-like, has separated from the genus Aloe and become the genus Aloidendron.
