The Alyxia gynopogon belongs Apocynaceae (the Dogbane family). It is a small evergreen tree that is native to Norfolk Island, Australia. It grows in the wet tropical biome and can grow up to 4 m tall. The leaves are elliptic, dark green, glossy, and pointed at the tip. The flowers are white and resemble those of the "frangipani". The fruit is a kernel, which turns dark orange when ripe.
