アメリカばんまつり (アメリカ蕃茉莉) [Index] [Back] 西インド諸島が原産です。成長が早く、高さは３〜４メートルになります。葉は緑色から黄緑色で、楕円形から倒卵形、全縁です。春の終わりから夏、秋にかけて、黄白色の花を咲かせます。花は暗くなると、とくに香ります。果実は丸い液果です。全草が有毒で、とくに根と果実には、多く含まれます。  ナス科ブルンフェルシア属の常緑低木で、学名は Brunfelsia americana。英名は Lady of the night。  The Lady of the night (Brunfelsia americana) belongs to Solanaceae (the Nightshade family). It is a small tree that is native to the West Indies. This tree is fast-growing, and it can reach 3-4 m in height. The leaves are green to yellowish-green, elliptic to obovate, with entire margins. The creamy white flowers bloom in late spring, summer and fall. They are extremely fragrant after dark. The fruits are rounded pericarps.
