The Boltonia (Boltonia asteroides) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the eastern part of the United States. It grows in moist meadows, wetlands, and riverbanks, and grows 1.5 to 1.8 m tall. It has linear to lanceolate leaves that are greenish-gray, and blooms from September to October with white, pink, wisteria, or purple flowers that resemble asters.
