The Anathallis linearifolia belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed from southeastern and eastern Brazil to Misiones, Argentina. It grows in mountainous tropical rainforests and is about 10 cm tall. It grows on tree trunks and other vegetation. The leaves are leathery, linear-lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, with pointed tips. In early spring, it produces a scape with 3 to 12 small flowers.
