The Pyramidal orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis) belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed over a wide area from Europe to western Asia and North Africa. It grows in limestone grasslands, shrublands, and coastal dunes, and is 30-45 cm tall. The stems are erect, and the oblong leaves are basal. from June to July, the flower scapes grow and produce pink to deep red flowers in racemes. The large labellum has three lobes like a "Fragrant orchid" and is characterized by its long spur.
