The Anaphalis triplinervis belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in the eastern and western Himalayas, as well as in Nepal and Tibet. It grows on rocky gravel slopes at elevations of 1500 to 5500 m and is 30-60 cm tall. The leaves are lanceolate with velvety hairs. At the end of summer, the flower-heads, enclosed in a white bract, blooms at the end of the stem. There are no ray flowers. The Chinese name is "三脉香青" (san mai xiang qing).
