南アフリカのナンカランドからピケットバークに分布しています。湿潤な砂地に生え、高さは１２センチほどになります。球茎をもち、２個の披針形の根生葉があります。１月から２月ごろ、白桃色の苞葉のなかに、目立たない小さな白い花をいっぱい咲かせます。現在はイヌサフラン属に含められています。

ユリ科アンドロキンビウム属の多年草で、学名は Androcymbium capense ssp. ciliolatum (syn. Colchicum capense ssp. ciliolatum)。英名はありません。

The Androcymbium capense ssp. ciliolatum belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in western Suoth Africa, Namqualand to Piketberg. This herb grows in wet sand soils and can reach about 12 cm in height. The corm is ovate and comes into 2 lanceolate leaves. Many inconspicuous white flowers come with the whitish pink bracts form January to February. It is currently included in the genus Colchicum.
