Androsace vitaliana belongs to Primulaceae (the Primrose family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Europe. This herb grows in limestone rocky soils, at 1800-2300 m elevation, and it can reach 4-6 cm in height. It can be lonely, but usually forms dense cushions. The leaves are oblong with cattered stellate hairs. The yellow flowers, 5 petals and 5 stamens, bloom from May to July. The fruits are spheroidal capsules with 2 or 3 seeds.
