The Angraecum compactum belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is a perennial evergreen herb that is native to the island of Madagascar. It is an epiphyte with stems up to 30 cm long. The linear leaves are leathery and are arranged in two rows. In early summer, white flowers bloom on drooping stems. The labellum is large, and there is a long, curved spur.
